Whether You're Looking to Snowboard, Ski or a Place to Learn, MN has Ski Resorts for You: Ski season has arrived and it’s time to hit the hills. Whether you’re a beginner or expert, Minnesota has ski resorts you’ll want to try across the state.

Best Snowboarding Park
Spirit Mountain in Duluth has the largest terrain park in the Midwest at a half-mile long. The park features a 350’ superpipe, multi-feature medium jump line, jibs and a roller line – all set to views of Duluth.

Best Ski Getaway in Minnesota
Lutsen Mountains, Minnesota’s largest ski area, offers 92 runs across 1,000 acres and four peaks, connected by lifts and trails. Its longest run is two miles and it offers a mix of trails for all abilities. Its 900 ft vertical drop makes Lutsen the tallest ski area in the state and also the only one in the Midwest with a gondola.

Best Mix of Winter Fun
Visit Giants Ridge Ski Resort in Biwabik, MN for skiing, but during your stay try snowmobiling, snowshoeing, tubing and cross-country skiing at this year-round resort.

Great Skiing Close to the Twin Cities
About an hour southeast of the Twin Cities, Welch Village is a great destination for those who like to wander the trails. Skiers are typically in the majority on these hills, which offer a good mix of beginner, intermediate and advanced runs and quick lifts.

Good Place for Beginners
About 40 percent of the runs at Buck Hill in Burnsville are beginning runs and another 35-40 percent are intermediate, making it a great place to start out. For a resort that’s had a history of training Olympic skiers, you have to believe it can train even beginners.

Good for Families
Its affordable prices and calm slopes make Andes Tower Hills near Alexandria a great spot for families. The alcohol-free policy and pizza orders to go make this a great family stop.
